丈夫抽菸癌逝… 香菸公司判賠7080億

中新社報導，美國一名婦人的丈夫36歲時死於肺癌，她指控美國菸業巨頭雷諾公司「殺了她丈夫」，獲得勝訴，美國佛羅里達陪審團裁定雷諾公司需賠償236億美元（約台幣7080億）的天價。

辛西婭羅賓遜說，她的丈夫13歲開始抽菸，死時仍菸不離手，她認為雷諾公司沒有告知她的丈夫香菸中的尼古丁會讓人成癮，以及抽菸會引起肺癌。

雷諾公司在一份聲明中指出，「賠償金被嚴重高估，這是國家與憲法法律所不容許的」、「這項判決遠超出合理和公平的範疇，也和證據不一致」，雷諾公司表示將提起上訴，相信法院「不會允許這種失控的判決」。
